EUROMIN SILICATE PIGMENTS
according to DIN 18 363 Art. No. 1410-1419

Properties
Ready-to-use mineral paint based on potassium silicate according to DIN 18363/2.4.1. with lightfast pigments. For tinting EUROMIN Silicate Paint exterior

Also suitable as full shade toner for uncoated lime plaster, lime cement
plaster, loam plaster, concrete, lime sand bricks and similar mineral substrates as well as
old, well adhering whitewash and silicate paint coatings.

Attention! Do no use on dispersion paints and water-repellent substrates.

Ingredients
Water, chalk, pigments depending on colour shade (see full declaration), potassium silicate,
pure acrylate, organic ammonium compound, fatty acid polyether derivate, sodium phosphonates, polysaccharide/starch, potassium methyl siliconate.

Instructions for use:
1. Pre-treatment
Substrates must be solid, absorptive and clean. If necessary, clean with a high pressure cleaner. Remove dispersion, latex, oils and synthetic resin coatings entirely.
Cover alkali-sensitive surfaces!

Repair hair and shrinkage cracks as well as other plaster damage with mineral filling compound thoroughly. If necessary, prime with EUROMIN Silicate Priming Coat 1430 Remove formwork and remove oil residues with respective cleaner. Sand off calc-sinter layers. pre-treat highly absorptive and crumbling substrates with EUROMIN Fixative.
Remove all soiling, mould, fungus growth, moss and algae thoroughly from old facade surfaces by means of a high pressure cleaner prior to painting. Remove all plant parts and sucking pollen (encroaching and adhesive roots) entirely from infested facades mechanically and/or by scorching. Otherwise these organic remains may cause bleeding, discolouring or flaking of the paint in these areas at a later point of time.

Important note: When coating the different substrates with aqueous, open-porous coating systems, certain substances such as lignin, nicotine, rust, various salts and moisture may bleed through from the substrate or lead to discolouring or colour differences. This is why it is absolutely necessary to check the substrates for suitability and carry out preliminary tests (sample surfaces).
Observe Australian Standard 2311 – Guide to the painting of buildings.

2. Application
Stir Euromin Silicate Pigments thoroughly. For tinting, add silicate pigments to the respective
silicate paint in the desired concentration and mix well until homogenous. When using
pure silicate pigments , two coats are usually applied by roller, brush or airless spraying.
The first coat can be diluted up to 10% with fixative, the second coat up to max. 5%. Dried paint particles crumbling from the container rim or lid can be removed from the paint by sieving after dilution with fixative. For the treatment of other substrates, see Technical Data Sheet for Euromin Silicate Paint exterior.

Attention! Do not apply at temperatures below 5°C, in heat (above 35°C in the shade) or in
strong sunlight. As of 30°C, it is recommend to pre-wet the substrates before applying the first
coat.

3. Cleaning of tools
Clean with water and soap immediately after use.

Drying
Re-coatable after 24 hours.
Consumption/spreading rate per coat
140-170ml/m² or 6-7m²/l on normally absorbent substrates.

Storage
Cool, dry, above freezing point and sealed airtight. Use up opened containers soon. Minimum
shelf life: 12 months. Attention: Risk of thickening if stored too warm!
Container size
0.25 l / 0.5 l PE or PP containers.

Safety instructions
Keep out of the reach of children. Protect eyes and skin from paint splashes. After contact with eyes, skin or other alkali-sensitive substrate such as varnish, wood, metal, plastic, glass, natural stone, clinker, ceramics, etc. rinse with plenty of water immediately. When spraying, do not breathe spray mist. Do not empty into drains, aquatic environment or soil.
Disposal
Dispose of liquid product residues at collection points for old paints/varnishes or dispose of according to locally applicable regulations. Small quantities of residue and soaked work materials can be disposed of along with domestic waste after drying. Only recycle cleaned or completely empty packaging with cured deposits or dispose of according to locally applicable legal regulations Uncleanable packaging and packaging not emptied appropriately must be treated and disposed of like the product!
